The Indian women’s compound archery team continued their winning streak at the Archery World Cup Stage II in Yecheon, South Korea, by securing a spot in the gold medal match on Wednesday. The trio of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand Swami, and Parneet Kaur, seeded second in the tournament, displayed their dominance yet again. In a thrilling semi-final clash, they edged out the United States team 233-229. This victory comes after their gold medal win at Stage I in Shanghai last month, making them strong contenders for back-to-back gold.
Their journey to the finals wasn’t entirely smooth sailing. Though they received a bye into the quarterfinals after finishing second in the qualifying round, every match presented a challenge. They overcame Italy in a close encounter (236-234) before facing the United States. With this win, the Indian team sets their sights on the gold medal, aiming to solidify their position at the top of the compound archery world
